Ultimate Rocky Road

2 Cups Milk Chocolate Chips
2 1/4 Cups Miniature Marshmallow
1/2 Cup Coarsely Chopped Nuts
1/4 Cup Sunflower Seeds

Melt over hot (not boiling water) ,milk chocolate morsels; stir until
smooth. Remove from heat.
Stir in Marshmallows, nuts and sunflower seeds.
Spread in foil lined 8-inch square pan. Chill untill firm (about one hour).

Cut into one inch squares.

Vintage christmas cookie recipes _ Bourban Balls

Chocolate Bourbons Balls

1 1/2 Cups Fine Vanilla Wafer Crumbs
1/3 Cup Bourbon
1 Cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
2 Tablespoons Butter Or Margarine
1/2 Cup Finely Chopped Pecans
1 1/4 Cups Powdered Sugar , Divided

In a small bowl mix cookie crumbs and bourbon. Set aside.
Place chips and butter in a large bowl. Microwave at 50% (medium) 2 to 5
minutes or untill chips are soft. Stir untill smooth. Stir in pecans and
crumb mixtures.
Slowly mix in enough sugar until mixture just holds together. Shape by
teaspoonfuls into balls, place on wax paper. Roll in remaining sugar to
coat. Store in refrigerator, tightly covered , no longer than two weeks.

I have been making this for over 25 yrs– Yikes . It’s always a big hit and
freezes well. Just be sure to put it in a air tight container .

Pfeffer Kuchen German Christmas Cookies

In  Honor of Lili (nee Held ) Rausen

The Held family recipe.

4-5 Cups of Sifted Flour

2 1/4 Cups Of Honey

1 cup Sugar

1/4 cup Almonds, Roughly grounded

1Teaspoon Baking Soda

1  tsp Cinnamon

1 tsp Ginger

1/2 tsp Ground cloves

1/2 tsp Cardemon

Heat honey to boiling, stir in sugar and let cool.

Stir in flour, almonds & Spices.

Refrigerate ( few hrs to a day)

Roll out  & cut Cookies

Bake in 350 oven for 5 minutes.

Put icing on top if desired .

Put in tin with whole carrot.

Eat when soft.

Clafoutis- “you can get it freshly baked in every street of Marseile

Clafoutis

4 tablespoons Flour,

4 Tablespoons Sugar,

4 Eggs

1 Pint Milk

1 Tablespoon butter,

2 lb fresh cherries

Mix Flour, Sugar, egg and Milk, blend well. Add cherries. Pour into greased spring form pan,

cover with flakes of butter and bake in hot oven for 3/4 hr.

Serve when Cold.
