This was left as a Comment to my post on Goldette Jewelry.
“came across your blog today, and wanted to let you know about us. John Medeiros jewelry is a fine jewelry alternative, all made from hand, all made in the US. We have just launched a new website and blog this week and I would love for you to take a look.

I did take a look and it is nice jewelry. It’s not Vintage, tho.
And I probably would be more glowing if I got a bracelet or ring to test out. lol

Emily’s story on Caring Bridges.

Feb 25 2009 Published by under My Life

I am following Emily’s Story on Caring Bridges since December when My Girl Scout troop made her cards and sent to her for the Holidays.

She was was born with an intraventricular arachnoid cyst that caused hydrocephalus and had her 1st surgery when she was six weeks old. That was just the beginning of her neurosurgical journey!!!

She is the age of my Oldest daughter, 14 but her Teenage years must be nothing like my daughter is experiencing. It just touches me inside that her “teen years’ are not about boys, giggling, crushes, etc. but about pain management, surgeries and trying to stay out of hospitals.

I have her “blog at Caringbridge set , so I get a email when they update.
It’s a mixed blessing, because , I worry when I get a email and I worry when I don’t.

I’m such a “Mom”

More On The Tickmaster -Springsteen Ticket screw up in NJ. Still no tickets for me !

Feb 24 2009 Published by under My Life

From NJBIZ http://www.njbiz.com/article.asp?aID=77394
State gets cash, Springsteen fans get tickets — sort of

In a move that may soothe angry fans, Ticketmaster and Attorney General Anne Milgram reached a settlement regarding this month’s controversial online sale of Bruce Springsteen tickets. State Attorney General Slams Springsteen Ticket Sales

According to a statement released today, the state gets $350,000 in attorney and other fees for its investigation into the questionable way Ticketmaster sold tickets for an upcoming Springsteen concert. Fans who filed complaints with the Division of Consumer Affairs will be entered into a lottery for the chance to receive tickets they said they were owed.

Tickets went on sale Feb. 2 through Ticketmaster for May 21 and 23 performances by Springsteen and company at the Izod Center in the Meadowlands. Based on some 2,200 complaints filed with the attorney general’s office, many fans either did not get the tickets they were charged for or were directed to an alternate Web site, TicketsNow.com, to buy their tickets at higher rates. TicketsNow.com was purchased by Ticketmaster last February for $265 million.

Per the settlement, 1,000 customers who filed complaints over the tickets will be entered in to drawing to be able to purchase up to two tickets for the concerts. Customers who filed complaints but are not chosen in the drawing will receive a $100 gift certificate towards Ticketmaster purchases, and will have the chance to buy two advance tickets for a future Springsteen concert in the state.

Customers that the state can confirm were charged for but did not receive tickets due to technical problems will be furnished with tickets by Ticketmaster.

Customers that the state can confirm were diverted to the TicketsNow.com site during the first five hours the Springsteen tickets went on sale will be paid back the difference for the higher sale price.”

I did file a complaint with NJ Consumer Affairs, So I still have a chance to get 2 Tickets.
I’ll keep you posted.

I Long for Filemaker Pro to organize my inventory & life.

Feb 13 2009 Published by under My Life

It’s like I saw a infocomercial, the way I feel about Filemaker Pro.

I am convinced that it will help me get my inventory( finally) organized.

I downloaded a trial of it in October & really loved it, but couldn”t spend the $250 plus on it. So I searched for a lower cost alternative and I found  a free one  but it was just too complicated for me. (lol)

Then I  tried a inventory program specific for Antiques & Collectibles- but  it was almost as pricey as Filemaker but not as smooth..

And now , I crave Filemaker Pro.

SO, Is it worth it?? Or should I just use a excel spreadsheet to inventory my Jewelry?

Today , I felt like I was in a Apple vs Pc commercial.

Feb 10 2009 Published by under My Life

I brought my car into the Mini dealership to get  it’s 12,000 mile tune-up. Since the dealership is a bit away from my home, I stay there and do work. I take my Toshiba Laptop aka PC to take advantge of the Wi Fi there.

Here comes my Apple vs PC commercial Moment.

My computer wouldn’t load fully.  As I waited for Mozilla to load, a hip woman with red hair, High Black boots  holding a what looked like  a carrot juice smoothie, sat down and opened up her Mac ( apple) and started typing away.

Twenty minutes later , I am still waiting for Mozilla or anything else to load  while she was still  typing away. And I waited and waited for my computer to load.

A young family came in and while we were chit chatting , the husband mentioned a great free program to get rid of  malware , which we decide was the problem with my computer,

I came home and my husband did some magic and finally got it to start, load and work. ( he spent about 45 minutes, so I know it wasn’t something easy   or obvious to fix).

I  downloaded Malwarebytes and it found 6 Trojans on my computer .

I highly recommend it  and It’s free!
